Hoofbeat is an interactive horse roleplaying game/sim. Essentially we are a community of horselovers bringing equine character's to life in a virtual world named Terra. think of a novel...being written by a hundred authors. You may play up to eight characters at once and the plot? Entirely up to you. Through the years and many diferant forums Hoofbeat and the world of Terra has seen well over 5 generations of horses,battles for land,love and loss, friendships and enemies and even two full scale herd on herd wars which have lasted over a year in real time! All of this happened because of people like YOU. So come on in and join us - we're always open to new members, ideas and plot twists. You never know someday your character could be a Hoofbeat legend.

To join, simply register for an account When you register, your username does not have to be your horse's name, because you are allowed to play up to eight horses on one account. After registering,please make sure you read the site rules and then make your way over to the Character Information board. Create ONE THREAD for all of your horses (you may reply to your own thread later if you choose to make new horses) and post the following information for each of your characters:
Hint - It might be wise to read up on the Factions and the gods who sponsor them before creating a character.

Once your character is further established you can also edit in the following information. (although if you already know some of it - like faction - you can go ahead and fill that in now too.)

Power: (may ONLY be granted by an admin! You may not join with a power.)

That's it! You may now start roleplaying!

A good place to start is to join a herd. The best place to go if you're not sure which herd you want to join is The Pad. This is neutral ground where horses from many herds go to meet. You can talk to horses and leads from several herds, find out which one you think would best suit you (keep your faction in mind), and request to join their herd (if they don't offer first!) Or, if you have a particular herd in mind, you can just post in the herd area itself. Keep in mind that both the herd areas and the pad are roleplay areas, and even requests to join a herd need to be roleplayed out!
