Out of Character Rules
  • Any out of character insults directed towards another player will result in severe consequences. If your truly this upset about something please PM a mod.
  • Do not spam. Period. This goes for the forums, the C-box or anything else related to the site.
  • You are allowed one account with 8 characters total. If we find someone trying to slip through by having a second account, said account will be banned and the characters killed.
  • Leads should keep an out of character herd count stickied in their herd forum. This count should detail the positions of all herd members and be updated every time someone joins.
  • Herd leaders should remain as active as possible, becoming a leader is a responsibility and commitment and one should consider that before deciding to lead. If a leader falls inactive their lands may be given away to the next challenger. Herds of inactive leaders are free to disperse.
  • Try to keep out of character chatting on in character forums (aka any forum in the Public Lands or Herdlands sections) to a minimum. Chatting while roleplaying is OK; holding OOC conversations is not.

Image Rules
  • No images or postscripts used on the forums may be wider than 600 pixels.
  • All manipulations must follow the rules set by the stock providers.
  • All images used must be your property or stock photos available for public use. You may not post or link to images which you do not have permission to use.
  • No critique shall be given on any picture unless it is asked for.
  • When it is asked for and someone does critique, all parties MUST be curteous in their responses.

In Character Rules
  • No Godmodding (playing your character as though they are indestructible. If I see this you will be visited by the gods - and not in a good way)
  • No powerplaying (controlling another person's character) Exceptions to this rule can be made if you gained Out of Character permission from the other player first.Again if I see it, you'll be warned...if I see it a lot you won't like what happens.
  • Mares may not claim land. Lead and beta mares MAY perform administrative duties, but ownership of a herd can only fall into a mare's hands if she was lead mare and the lead stallion falls inactive (assuming no beta stallion was appointed) or dies.
  • Breeding is allowed, but if you choose to post sexual content please place a warning in the thread's title. If a couple has children, you may make up the foal's stats yourself and decide who will play him/her.Please, please be responsible about this, I don't want to see extreme content OR mares having foals like candy. If your mare has a foal we'd like to see those foals developed and played not randomly killed off or forgotten the next season when you decide to have another.
  • Don't butt in to an established topic or private topic without asking (this is normally seen as around 4 posts for an open thread and ALWAYS for a private thread). If you really think your character should be involved send a PM to the thread creator, it's a simple and polite thing to do.
  • A stallion cannot claim a mare and force her to join his herd without out of character consent. Likewise one cannot be forced to stay with a herd if they are unhappy there. Consider that in some herds or factions such an action might be frowned upon and in character resentment and revenge may be taken. (Exceptions to this rule can be taken in the event of out of character permission. Example - A player agrees to their characters becoming a prisoner or a certain faction.)
  • Rules subject to change at moderators whim.

Powers/Abilities
  • Powers can only be given by the god's (played by staff members). You cannot join with a power or just randomly give your horse a power and hope we won't notice. We will.
  • To earn a power, make an in-character post with your horse at Terranfall, followed by a description of the power you would like to have, its limitations (every power has limitations), and a detailed description of what your horse will be able to do at every power level.
  • Remember, to earn a power, your horse must belong to a faction and its power must be within the realm of what that god can give. They are as follows:
    • Purist - Amon, God of Destruction. Amon has power over super-destructive and/or dark powers
    • Anarchist - Arathne, Goddess of Spirit and Self. Arathne's powers greatly exaggerate the personality or feelings of the horse himself.
    • Pacifist - Rhiadre, Goddess of Life and Hearth. Rhiadre's powers are given with emphasis to caring for the earth and all that live on it.
    • Zealot - Kulassin, God of Time and Death. Kulassin has power over the movement of time. He gives powers in an attempt to slow entropy - the slow and inevitable death of the universe.
    • Lionas - God of Deception and Despair. Lionas' powers have an emphasis on illusion, confusing and deceiving others.
  • An administrator or moderator will reply to your post either approving or declining your power. If you are declined, it is likely because of one of the following reasons:
    • Your horse is inactive or has not been active long.
    • You are relatively new to the site.
    • The power you have chosen is too strong - it has high destructive powers and few limitations.
  • Once an ability has been given your character will start off at the lowest level of said ability. Your horse will grow one power level, real time, from the day that a moderator approved your power.
  • Powers are hard to get; not every horse on Terra will be given an ability. If you fail to gain an ability, do not despair - continue to develop your character and his motives well and perhaps the gods will notice and reward you.
  • Use your powers responsibly...the gods giveth and the gods can taketh away if they so desire. If I see someone using their ability in a way that is far outside their ability level I will step in and post a consequence for said action. If you burn your herd to death don't blame me.

Power Levels
  • Level 1 - You're still learning control, sometimes your ability doesn't do what you want it to...or work at all. Most attempts end badly.
  • Level 2 - You've learned a little bit of control but your attempts to use your ability tend to be more brute force then refinement (rather then seeking out one specific thought in someone's mind your apt to overwhelm yourself with a billion thoughts, rather then burn down a tree you just set fire to the entire area.) The contraction required to do most things leave you susceptible to surprises from the world around you.
  • Level 3 - You've mastered most easy and uncomplicated applications of your ability. you can probably burn down that tree or find that stray thought now - as long as your subject is actively thinking of it.)
  • Level 4 - Now that you've gotten a bit more confidence you think your ready to try some grander applications (like burning down two different things at once) unfortunately this extra concentration leads to some nasty mistakes, it would be smart to take things slowly.
  • Level 5 - You're getting better, your easy applications tend to go off without a hitch by now but your mid-level tries still mess up from time to time. If you get cocky and try something really complicated it's likely to backfire on you.
  • Level 6 - By now you've mastered a bit more refinement and your mid-level tries tend to work - most of the time. You've become accustomed to concentrating on both your ability and the world around you an are less likely to be taken by surprise.
  • Level 7 - You're ready to try something very hard by this point - although some more practice might be wise if you want it to work.
  • Level 8 - Your mid-level tries go off without a hitch and your attempts at anything complicated tend to start out well - even if they never do exactly what you wanted. For the most part you get things in the general area of what you were thinking, but you know what they say close enough only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
  • Level 9 - You've been practicing forever and it feels like you've taken some great strides in mastering your ability. Indeed you have, mistakes are rare now and your quite accustomed to wielding your power while also payin attention to other things.
  • Level 10 - You're a master of your art, there's very little you can and cannot do with your ability
  • Power levels may only be upgraded by staff members. If you feel your horse has earned a level upgrade, reply to the Powered Horses thread in Terranfall with the link to the thread where it was earned.

Challenge Rules
If you have trouble making battle posts please read the provided guides for some help.
  • Only stallions can battle for land. If your land has no beta and an inactive lead then the challenger will win.
  • Post your challenges in the herd land of the stallion your challenging AND start a post for them to respond to in the Battleground.
  • Each stallion can only be challenged once every two weeks. No picking on the wounded stallion who just fought.
  • You can only have one challenge going at a time
  • If you win a challenge you get the land,no the herd living on it. The horses in theland can choose to merge with your herd if they like but it's not mandatory.
  • If you wish to battle for a living, breathing horse the person who plays thathorse must first consent to it and must be ok with winding up in either herd. If s/he's not, no battle.(Ideally situations like this should be discussed OOC and played out by the players on thier own. Mod's shouldn't have to judge character driven storyline's like this)
  • There is a 3 day minimum response time for ALL parties involved in a battle. After those three days, if you have not responded, you forfeit by default. If the player posted that s/he would be away in the away board, it is three days from their estimated date of return.
  • To make it easier for the judges, No one except those battling will be allowed to post during the battle. However, you may post afterwords once the judges have posted the results.
  • No OOC posts during a battle. You may add OOC comments in your battling post, but no posts that are only OOC. This also makes it easier for the judges.
