.kaamos.
And I want a moment to be real, wanna touch things I don't feel, wanna hold on, and feel I belong.
Dragging himself wearily across the boundary that separated the wast woodlands from the small enclosure of trees for foal's play, the young colt nickered to himself, proud of the fact that he had wandered across three herdlands all by himself to reach this little place. Kaamos looked to one side with glistening eyes, hoping for there to be another colt his age that he could play with, but no such luck. The hopefulness in his eyes dimmed a little, he swung his large head to the opposite side. Surely there would be another foal there. No one came into his vision, and the colt's body visibly sagged in disappointment.
Sighing heavily, he dropped his head to the ground and sniffed at the blades of grass that pushed through the recently frozen soil in response to the warming spring sun. The scent triggered a snarl from his long empty stomach, and brought forward a thought that had been banished to the back of his mind until now. Food. Kaamos had been trying to forget the gnawing hunger for hours, and had succeeded in doing so..... until now. Closing his eyes with an irritated expression, drew in a breath slowly, then let it out. Ignore it, ignore it, ignore it, IGNORE IT. The roan colt told himself over and over as the gurgling of his stomach continued.
'Mother'... Ha, as if you deserve to be called that. Kaamos muttered scornfully, wishing again for what must be the thousandth time for someone who could love him. Play with him. Teach him. Anything but hate him. Anger flooded his senses. Mum, it's not my fault I'm Pharaoh's son! I didn't make him rape you! It's not my fault, it's not my fault! Why can't you love me? Why? I want to be loved... please... accept me. A tear sneaked from an eye, quickly shaken away with a toss of the colt's head. Quit thinking about useless stuff like that. He said aloud firmly, nodding to himself, forcing confidence to replace anger.
A quick look around told the colt that there was... absolutely nothing familiar to him around. An unamused expression struck his face as he stared at the various greenery around him with a sigh. Now what do I do? It isn't like there's a consultant hanging around me, ready to ask any question I have. Once again, the colt looked around, searching for another creature. Horse, wolf, cat, it didn't matter to him, he just wanted someone who could answer his questions.
An ebony mare caught his eye, and Kaamos' mouth turned up in a small grin. There! His long legs began stepping forward briskly, heading towards the mare with pricked ears.
[HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I. REPLIED. >3]
