Nova, baby, it's okay, your going to be okay.
I heard her voice, but barely felt her touch my neck softly. My body was tense as a sweat broke out, my head nudging against the ground as if I could escape the pain.
What's going on, Ace? I can't see. Nova? Where does it hurt? What hurts?
I couldn't even bring myself to answer her. Tried, I did, however as soon as a tried to form the words waves of pain knocked them seemingly out of reach. My breath came raggedly, my sides lifting urgently, trying as I could to escape the pain.

What's going on, Ace? I can't see. Nova? Where does it hurt? What hurts?
I watched Nova for a few moments, long enough to tell that she was trying to speak, but couldn't. I turned away from her pain filled face, so I could gain some control of my own emotions. Turning back, I glanced down at her bad leg, seeing it had swelled, like she had twisted it. Badly.
"It's her leg."
My voice was dead, I looked back down at Nova, finding her body tensed, her eyes clenched shut. I brushed my muzzle down to push away her sweaty forelock.
"Nova, I'm here."
I spoke to her softly, soothingly.

I felt her breath as she opened her mouth, was she trying to speak? But then her ragged breathing cut off any words she may have wanted to say. Instead, I heard Ace answer me, It's her leg. My breath hissed through my teeth as I inhaled sharply. Her leg. I forgot all about that. How could I forget something that was my fault those very few years ago? Her muscles were hard and tensed where they touched my body, I nickered softly. Nova, I'm here. I heard Ace say, I rose my head to him with desperation in my face.
"Ace! What do we do? Is it broken? No! It can't be, not again!" I felt chagrin overwhelm me, and the grief bubbling in the back of my mind in a dark, churning cloud. It taunted me, threatened to shoot me back to hell, but I fighted it, I fighted for both Ace and Nova's sake. It must just be really badly sprained, Nova. Be strong, maybe she should try walk on it?" I asked Ace, while trying to strain my voice into some kind of soothing melody.

Nova
I could hear Faith's desperate voice, but only bleakly. The pain was close to unbearable, as my exhausted body just lay there, enduring it. I bit my lip to keep from crying out, my muscles completley tensed. Be strong, Those were the words that stood out in Faith's voice. Be strong. I told myself. Closing my eyes, I moved each leg, one at a time, as if i was trying to stand. I went to move my bad leg. It dragged limply across the ground as my face twisted with overwhelming pain, my head falling back to the ground, ignoring the rocks that scratched my cheeks.
--------------------------------
Ace
Ace! What do we do? Is it broken? No! It can't be, not again!
I shook my head in despair. I did indeed have enough knowledge to know some first aid, however things were so much different when it was your own daughter, your own blood who was the one who was hurting.
It must just be really badly sprained, Nova. Be strong, maybe she should try walk on it?
I looked down at Nova, and saw her trying to get up. As she moved her bad leg, her face was almost too horrible to even glance at. I rest my muzzle on her shoulder, giving her a sign that it was okay, she didn't have to get up.
"Honestly, if I asked her to get up and walk, I know she would do it. She's strong. But if it's broken, we will be doing it much more harm."
I looked down at her, my eyes filled with worry. This was bad. Really bad. Even if she got up to walk, I don't think I could handle seeing her in so much pain. Stop. I told myself. I couldn't let my emotions run away with me. Not now. Now I had to let my knowledge take me away, so I could do as much as possible to help her.
"I think it will be best if we treat it like a sprain; but it could be a number of things. There could be torn ligaments. "
I shook my head again, touching my muzzle down to Nova, feeling her sweaty hide, feeling it tense as pain came over her.

Honestly, if I asked her to get up and walk, I know she would do it. She's strong. But if it's broken, we will be doing it much more harm. I sighed. Broken? I never knew this kind of stuff, I knew that if such a thing had happened to me, I would surely die. The pain would be so great I would try to out run it like I do with any predator. Nova was stronger, calmer, more in control. I think it will be best if we treat it like a sprain; but it could be a number of things. There could be torn ligaments. His words were almost like a foreign language to me, then I realised that he would of had a whole other life before my mother and me.
Right now he knew what he was doing. "Maybe she should just rest, Do you know of anything to keep it straight when she stood?"

Maybe she should just rest, Do you know of anything to keep it straight when she stood?
I gave a small nod, remember back, a long time ago when I found myself in similar situations. I stepped away from Nova for a moment, moving into the trees finding a straight, strong stick in which I grabbed in my mouth and made my way back to Nova and Faith. I dropped it to the ground beside Nova's tense body, gave her a longing look before trotting back into the trees, grabbing mouthfuls of leaves and grass, wish would be like the padding for her leg. In another trip, I pulled vines down from the towering trees, then made my way back once again.
"I'll make her a sort of splint; It might not hold for long, but it will give it some support."
I looked down at Nova, my eyes filled with love, devotion, and total concern. This was not going to be easy. Fitting her with a splint meant moving the leg, meaning more agony for her. I brought my head down to look at her more closely, so she wouldn't have to strain to hear me.
"Nova, i'm going to give your leg some support. I know your in pain. I promise you I will be as gentle as possible. Be strong, just a little longer."
My voice was soft, soothing. I brushing my muzzle across her side softly, trying to massage her stiff muscles. I lifted her leg as gently as I could, making sure the stick was of the right length. My eyes watched her reaction cautiously, my heart aching, seeing how much pain she was in. I turned to Faith.
"Can you go by her head, just sit with her, sing to her, anything."
I whispered to her, wanting to make it as easy as possible.
------------------------------------ Nova
Nova, i'm going to give your leg some support. I know your in pain. I promise you I will be as gentle as possible. Be strong, just a little longer.
My eyes squinted open to see Ace in front of my, and I gave the tiniest little tinge of a nod. I could do this. Or so I hoped I could. I could feel Ace move my leg, pain shot through it, and I bit down hard on my teeth, trying to keep from crying out. I tried to think of myself somewhere else, very far from here. I tried to mentally run away from the pain, however impossible it might be.
I imagined my mother, Aroha. However whenever I did, that old theory rushed back to me. Was it possible? And why? Pain twinged gently in my mind, and for a moment, I figured I would rather face the pain than think about my theory.

I heard Ace leave, and nickered nervously. Where was he going? Then he returned not a moment later and dropped something to the ground. I reached my nose out and took in the musky, earthy scent of wood as Ace left again. He returned and made one more trip away before speaking. I'll make her a sort of splint; It might not hold for long, but it will give it some support. I nodded slowly, not having any idea what he was meaning but knowing this would help. Nova, i'm going to give your leg some support. I know your in pain. I promise you I will be as gentle as possible. Be strong, just a little longer. I heard him say softly to her, I huffed out my breath.
Can you go by her head, just sit with her, sing to her, anything. I was already down beside her, so I shuffled forward quickly and easily that my head was closer to hers. "It's ok, Nova. You are going to feel pain but it there's no going around it." I racked my brains to think of something to distract her, then my mind was taken back to when I was young. I had hurt myself in some way and mother had just put some kind of herb on my wound. I curled up against her side and whimpered, and she softly sang to me. The weaving of her voice reminded me of the song, and I touched little Nova softly on the cheek. "You want to know mother more, well, this is what she would sing." I whispered.
"If only, if only, " the woodpecker sighs, "The bark on the tree was as soft as the skies." While the wolf waits below, hungry and lonely, Crying to the moo-oo-oon, "If only, if only."

It's ok, Nova. You are going to feel pain but it there's no going around it. You want to know mother more, well, this is what she would sing.
I listened breafly to Faith's words and song, fighting back any painful memories of Aroha. My focus was on Nova; and figuring out ways to help her. My eyes scanned her leg once again. The swelling told me that it most likely wasn't broken, but very badly sprained, on the verge of a break. Unfortunatley, the snow had long melted away, and the river was a while back. It would be good if I had the chance to 'ice' it, but resources were limited.
I nodded to Faith to tell her I was going to start moving her leg, just so she was prepared. I took the moss and leaves, and did my best to pack it against her leg, being as gentle as possible with still being firm enough to hold. I tried to work quickly, but that was difficult when you were trying to be so careful. I didn't want to have to do this twice, in which I would have to do if it didn't hold properly.
I took the still and layed it beside her leg, tearing at the vines to make them shorter. Soon enough, her leg was tied into a support, and I hoped it would hold.
It was only now that I looked at Nova's expression. I feared that if I had before, I might not be able to do it. Although she was incredibly strong, and did her best to hold her cries in, there were some that still escaped.
"All done, my dear."
I whispered softly, my eyes solemn and deeply concerned.

Faith's soothing song helped me to calm myself down, and keep my heart from thumping like crazy. The pain was difficult to deal with, but I tried my best to push it to the back of my mind- not an easy thing to accomplish. I didn't want to look at what Ace was doing, didn't want to focus on that. Instead I just stared straight across from me, not really looking at anything in particular.
As my leg started to move, I thought I'd felt the worst pain imaginable. I was wrong. I felt my leg getting tighter, as I tried hard to keep my screams in, but there were flaws here and there. My teeth gritted together as I closed my eyes tightly, the pain coming even more steadily than before.
All done, my dear.
It was Ace's voice. Despite he had layed my leg gently back on the ground, the throbbing didn't dull into the background. It had been brought back to the surface, back from the darkest pit in hell.

I tried in vain to keep my voice even, though it threatened to falter every time Nova slipped an agonized scream. I hadn't known Ace had started, only when I had heard the rustling of the items he had found. Even then I wasn't sure, but when Nova screamed I knew. All done, my dear. When I heard Ace speak I released muscles I hadn't realized I had tensed. Nova's muscles were still tense though, of course. How did I even think that once Ace had done what he was meant to do that the pain for Nove would cease? Pain doesn't end once a deed is done, I, out of all horses, should know such a thing.
"It's okay, Nova. It's going to be okay, you just wait." I murmured to my little sister, my ears flopping to the sides in anguish. "Isn't there something we can do for the pain?" I asked desperately. I thought hard about what .... Aroha used to do, there was a few herbs that almost every horse knew, they were so basic, that soothed pain. Like a drug. Something... something berry." I muttered, wondering if Nova would have to just sleep it off.

Ace
I looked up at the sound of Fatih's voice, listening to her words careful. I had thought about that before, unfortunatley I didn't know much about pain control. I had learnt most of my medical knowledge just from being around wounded horses, and battle. Often, before me meeting Aroha, I had many injuries, half of them I couldn't even remember. For me, I just struggled through the pain, hadn't thought much about how I could control it. Or maybe I was too delirious, and when one is in that kind of pain, they need someone to care for them. I never had that. But I wanted to make sure Nova was as comfortable as possible.
"I think your onto something. Do you know of anything?"
I asked, my eyes looking back down at Nova, soft and almost tortured, seeing her in so much agony.
----------------------
Nova
It's okay, Nova. It's going to be okay, you just wait.
My groan of reply and pain was bleak, as I grew weaker. I struggled to keep my eyes open, but it really wasn't difficult to stay awake. The waves of pain made sure of that. I was only vagely aware of the conversation between Ace and Faith, as the sheen of sweat that had beaded out over my coat made me shiver, twinging as the movement made pain shoot up my leg.
Despite everything, the support on my leg had helped, but only in small amounts. I heard them talking about some type of pain killer, but it was hard to make out the words. However, I didn't want them to think they had to go searching for whatever it was. A pain killer would be nice, very nice, but I would get through this. Right?
"No.. I-..I ca-n ma..na-ge."
Well, I suppose I could have tried to make my voice sound my convincing- not easy.

Nova's groan was intensified with my hearing, and I sighed sadly. I think your onto something. Do you know of anything? I shook my head, maybe Nova was to push through it herself after all. No.. I-..I ca-n ma..na-ge. I shook my head and lowered my nose to her neck for a few seconds. My patchwork coat was becoming lathered with my sweat from worry. I slid away from Nova and rose to my hooves.
"She must try to get up, get up Nova. Please... please get up." I said softly, my voice taking on a small whimper. I quietened down to stop my voice panicking her, but I nudged her side softly to encourage her along.

I listened to Faith's soft whimper, pleading Nova to get up. My face creased with worry, terrified that Nova would get up and hurt herself further. I knew that it was crucial that she get up, but part of me also new that it could make things a heck of a lot worse- depending on the damage already done.
"Nova, just try. Don't push yourself too much."
That was all I said, standing by her for support as I watched her tired eyes flicker.
----------------------
Nova
She must try to get up, get up Nova. Please... please get up.
My eyes flickered, and I gave a groan of exhaustion and agony. I sat up, wincing as I felt the pain quiver through my body, like a fire being torched. I shuddered, my body convulsing for a moment till I got a hold of myself. Nova, just try. Don't push yourself too much. His voice was comforting, but I knew I had to do it anyway.
A cry ripped from my mouth, something I couldn't hold back at this point. I tried to push myself up, but my tired body did little. I was completley spent. Completley emotionally and physically exhausted.

Nova, just try. Don't push yourself too much. I listened desperatly as she struggled to rise. I couldn't decipher what was happening, my hearing was good, but not so good I could tell tiny movements from a complex movement. This bothered me and I strained harder, until the cry ripped from her throat. "Oh, Nova." I sighed, and nosed at her neck. "Rest, little one." She said softly, sadly. She raised her head and touched her nose to Ace's shoulder.
"And what are we to do? Maybe waiting around for a couple of days will get her strength up, then we must see someone. I'm not made for this kind of thing, and neither are you." I sniffed, pushing my head into his mane. What had happened the first time? Nova had healed by herself, she had a permenant limp from it, and it caused her pain when she walk too much, but she lived.

I rested my muzzle gently on her withers as she pushed her nose into my mane. I gave a degrating sigh, before pulling away to look at Faith.
"No... no we can't wait. She will keep getting weaker, and things will be a whole lot harder to turn around."
I shook my head, staring at the ground, trying to think of a solution. There had to be horses out there who had this kind of experience, this kind of knowledge. I had some that would get Nova through just a small part, but I couldn't really help her anymore- my knowledge and experience were both limited.
"Listen, will you be okay with her for a while? If we waste anytime, it could be too late. I have to go and find someone- anyone who can help."
I looked up at her before looking down at Nova, cringing at the way her sides heaved in each wave of pain, the way her body tensed.
---------------------------
Nova
Oh, Nova. Rest, little one.
I had no trouble following that request. With a huff, my body slumped back to the ground, my ribs giving a annoying ache, so I guess I had bruised them too when my body met the hard earth. Each breath made me shudder, I felt cold yet unbearably hot. A sweat drenched my body, drying in some spots while a new cover broke out over others.
I was only vaguely aware of what Ace and Faith were talking about. I did hear Ace saying that he was going to leave, to find someone to help. I started to open my mouth in protest, not wanting him to leave, but the panging ache begged to differ.

No... no we can't wait. She will keep getting weaker, and things will be a whole lot harder to turn around. I nodded, heard Nova's small body hit the ground again. Listen, will you be okay with her for a while? If we waste anytime, it could be too late. I have to go and find someone- anyone who can help. I heard a small whimper come from Nova, as if she couldn't force her protests out. I snuffled down to her coat and began licking the sweat off in slow, soothing motions. Twitching my ears siently and hoping that Ace got my agreement. He never usually talked unless it was neccessary, and I knew he could do signals out of habit like I did.
I raised my head breifly and pushed my nose against his shoulder, my lifeless eyes could not see, but my expression whispered softly. Hurry...find someone. I lowered my head and rumbled in my throat like a mother to her foal, and began fussing over Nova. I knew I probably would never have a foal of my own. My heart belonged to one who both hated and loved me. I felt the same towards him. It would go to no other, and I would never bare a foal. But if Nova was the closest I could get to one, then I'd be happy to have her.

I could easily pick up what Faith was telling me, by as little as her actions. She touched my shoulder softly, seeming to communicate that she agreed with me leaving to go and find someone, and that I should go quickly. My eyes started to prick with tears as I saw Faith go over to fuss over Nova. She was so much like her mother.. but I couldn't let that slow me down right now. Nova needed help. She needed it fast. One last departing nicker, I turned and trotted away, picking up speed as I went. When I was sure that I was far enough away that I couldn't bother Nova, I let a shrill whinny in desperation.
"Is anyone there!?"
I yelled, hoping someone that could help would answer.
------------------------------------
Nova
The sound of Faith's rumble from her throat was comforting, as she fussed over me. Even though I was in the most pain i'd ever felt, even though I hated that I ruined a good moment with my stupid leg, it was the best i've felt in a long time.
Having Faith there, mothering me in a way that i'd never known before, was an indescribable joy to me.

I heard Ace leave and continued to touch my nose to her side, keeping carefully away from her injured leg. Ace's hoofbeats faded long ago, but my excellent hearing picked up his shrill whinny of desperation and I knew that sound would travel for many miles before it would be lost the winds. "Nova..." I murmured sadly, closing my misty coloured eyes. My ears tilted forward then swivelled around to catch the noises.
"I know I haven't been very good to you from the start, and you might have heard of this before, but I promise I will be there for you from now on. I should never had left you, and you can come to me for help whenever you want." I sighed and snuffled into her mane, inhaling her familiar scent.

Nova... I know I haven't been very good to you from the start, and you might have heard of this before, but I promise I will be there for you from now on. I should never had left you, and you can come to me for help whenever you want.
I gave a soft sigh as I nestled my body against Faith, feeling safe and secure there. The words she just spoke were words that I thought I would never hear her say to me. From the day I was born, our relationship seemed so bleak, so dark and never to be awakened by the light.
If someone told me months ago thatI would be here, hearing those words right now, I would have laughed and said that was and idiotic thing to be thinking.
------------------------------
Ace
I cantered along the treeline, dodging some trees in the way as I called out in a deep desperation. I tossed my head in frustration as no one seemed to be around, and those who were just stared at me like I was utterly crazy.
"Hello!? Anyone!?"
My neigh carried far and wide as I rounded the corner, and skidded in my tracks. There was a black stallion in front of me, covered in a sheen of sweat, breathing deeply.
"My daughter is back there, suffering from a extensive leg injury... are you able to help us?"
My voice came in a rush of emotion, I wished there was more I could do. Seeing Nova in that sort of pain was something that pricked at my heart.

Stefan
I skidded to a stop in a cloud of dust as I met the eyes of the one who was calling in desperation. His voice came in a rush: My daughter is back there, suffering from a extensive leg injury... are you able to help us? I nodded easily, gestering to him to lead the way.
"Take me to her."
I added, if he didn't get my subtle hint.

[[oooooh who's this Stefan hmmm? hahaha]]
Faith raised her blind head and shook it to rid of the flies. Little Nova reasted against me and I continued smoothing her coat. Where was Ace? Could he not find help? Would Nova be destined to this place forever, too crippled to move, having to eat the grass she could rach and eventually starve to death? Faith hated the though of it, but sometimes nature did it's course and if Nova was destined to leave this world all too early she would linger till it was over. Would the pain be too great? The last horse Faith would ever know in Aroha's line. Unless she would leave this land of Hoofbeat, and search to find the herd Aroha was in beforehand.
"Come on Ace...." Faith murmured, her ears erect and listening. Was that hoofbeats? Was he returning? She strained to hear more, there were two. Was this help? And could this help save Nova?

[[haha :) One of my newer additions :) ]]
Ace
Take me to her. I let out a sigh of relief, and turned to lead the way. No, I didn't know who he was. Nor did I really know if he could help Nova. But I was at my wit's end. Nova's injuries were most definitley life impairing. Unless she got help soon, she would slowly deteriorate. I shook the thought quickly out of my mind, trying to focus on what would could do to help her.
"It's just around the corner here."
I told the stallion quietly, glancing back to see if he was still following. He barely made a sound, even though my own foot falls were soft, sometimes louder against fallen branches. Strange.
I could see Faith and Nova up ahead, and quickened my pace. Unless my eyes were decieving me, it seemed like Nova was becoming weaker- she was even more slumped against Faith's body than before. A light sweat had broken out on her coat. I finally reached the two, touching my muzzle softly to them, saying a silent omen in my mind, praying that this stallion could help.
"Help has come, my dear."
I told Nova, giving a worried glance to Faith.
----------------------------

I followed the stallion easily, picking my way after his distressed foot falls. It's just around the corner here. His rough voice floated back to me as I caught his gaze. As he quickened his pace, I knew we were getting closer. I rounded the bend easily keeping up, seeing what looked like a filly slumped against a mare. The filly's eyes were fluttering closed, every once in a while grimacing in pain. My eyes quickly observed each point of problems. Sweat was breaking out, possibly a fever from the pain, her leg was twisted in a irregular way, her breath coming in hard blows.
What caused this?"
I asked, quickly but efficiently.

I waited as the two stallions came closer, I looked their way, though I had the sense my face was to the side of the two. I didn't even move, only realising Ace was close when he touched his muzzle to my lightly. I flinched, too distracted by this new unknown horse to take much notice of Ace's wearabouts. Help has come, my dear. I heard Ace say to her, but my nose was reached out to where I hoped this stallion was. My audits twisted and turned frantically, trying to pick up the sounds he seemed to be so quiet to produce.
I could only guess he was assessing Nova and trying to figure out how to help her. He was so silent, I wanted to investigate. I rose slowly from Nova, careful to not jostle her at all. My hooves took me away from Nove towards the stallion. What caused this? I stopped, backing up, I feared I was too close. This was a stranger, maybe a dangerous stranger. But his question startled me more. It felt like it was shot at me, like he knew of my horrible deed and I ought to confess.
"We were galloping, and she tripped...and fell." I said slowly, wondering if the guilt I felt was written all over my face.

We were galloping, and she tripped...and fell.
I glanced to the mare who spoke in an almost guilty voice. But hey, I wasn't here to point any fingers. I was here to help in any way I could. The way she backed up made me give her a curious gaze. My eyes quickly changed, trying to show her that I was definitley not dangerous. However, when I looked at her more closely, and observed the way she moved, it reminded me much of my blind sister, who I hadn't seen in many years. Thinking my guess was right, I spoke up softly.
"I'm here to help. I mean no danger, and wish not to cause harm."
My voice was soft and easy, as I stepped aside the mare to get to the injured filly. My eyes glanced over her body, seeing what I expected to see and more. Her bodice was covered in a sheen of sticky sweat, her sides lifting in effort. I guessed that the pain must have been close to unbearable, and that's what was causing these symptoms. As my eyes scanned down her body, I could easily spot her damaged leg. It was twisted in an irregular way, a way that almost made me cringe at the pain that it was probably causing her. A make-shift splint was wrapped around it.
"I'm going to have to remove the splint, to get a closer look."
I said softly, to all of them around me.
**Sorry, really busy but I thought it would be okay if i just did stefan this time.**

[[no probs ace can do his awesome silent but observant thingy haha]]
I'm here to help. I mean no danger, and wish not to cause harm. His tone was softer, even a horse with sight could hear that clearly. I heard him move forward - as silent as he was - and stepped away instinctively as he went to take a look at my sister. I turned and followed though, my breath could probably be felt on his flank I was following so close. But the heat given off from his body lead me to where Nova was lying, and I stood with both ears pricked to puzzle together what he was doing.
I was quiet the whole time, trying to figure out what he was doing. But I had no idea. Sweat broke out over my body, the scent of fear within it. I feared for my sister. I feared for her life. I feared over this strange stallion whom assured me safety from him but without trust his words were nothing. And my trust would always be hard to give. Hard to forget. I was a confusing horse, my blood ran thick like the milky film over my eyes.
I'm going to have to remove the splint, to get a closer look. He alerted. I sighed, something to go by. "Please... please let her be okay." I murmured. Half to him and half to myself. I wanted to believe in those Gods of the factions they had these days. I wanted to believe miracles could happen and one God might pity my siblings and help her somehow. But I ddin't. I followed no God, so it was very unlikely a miracle would happen today.

Please... please let her be okay.
I let out a breath at her words. Despite not knowing this filly that lay on the ground, in great pain before me, I felt a sense that I had to help her. My eyes rose up from her to look at the stallion, who I guessed was her father. His eyes never left the quivering body of the filly.
"I'm going to do my very best."
I said, half in reply to the mare's words. Now, I studied the splint more carefully. It was tied with a series of vines. Looking back up at the mare, I gestered for her to sit by the filly's head.
"Let her know your here, everything is okay."
I told her, then turned back to taking the splint off. I hoped to cause her as little pain as possible. My teeth gently grasped the thick, vine roots and pulled softly until all of them came undone. There was moss as padded underneath, which was easily brushed away.
Now the injuries were fairly plain to see, at least for me. The swelling told me that there probably wasn't anything broken, but that didn't mean it wasn't on the verge of breaking. More than likely, there were torn legaments, and pulled muscles. A trickle of blood seeped down her leg, as I turned my head to see where it was coming from. It looked like the front of her leg had been very badly bruised, and had a deep scrape, which I guessed was from making contact with the ground.
"Was her leg ever injured earlier in her life? There are some more irregularities with it, but it seems to me that they don't look like new ones."
I asked, still looking at her leg, observing as much as I could.

Nova
I barely felt the splint being pulled off my leg, the burning sensation of the pain covering all of my senses. My teeth gritted together, my eyes closed, my whole body tense. It was hard to remember to breath.

I'm going to do my very best. His voice came to my curved audtis and I breathed softly. I trusted those words with all my will right now as I was relying on him to help Nova. To save her. He would. I knew he would. Let her know your here, everything is okay. I heard him say, and put my nose to the ground to feel around by her head. I did not sit, for I hadn't known that's what he wanted me to do. I hadn't seen his gesture.
I lowered my mustang head to Nova's ear and nuzzled her sweaty neck. "It's ok, Nova. Someone's going to help you now. Everything will be fine. You'll be okay." I murmured to her.
Was her leg ever injured earlier in her life? There are some more irregularities with it, but it seems to me that they don't look like new ones. I froze, lifting my heads slowly from my sister. I though back to when I attack Nova. The only time I had suffered with deadly rage and the only time I knew I ever would. It had scared me so much I knew I would never let that happen again. That I would never feel the grief I had felt then. I now shied away from hurt and things that angered me. Though nothing angered me now.
I swallowed, my ears rang with the blood pounding within them. He seemed not to worried, but also concerned. Though that might have been me getting paranoid. My mouth went dry, my expression crumpled, but my voice stayed cold and calm when I spoke. "She broke it straight after she was born. She healed, it was a clean brake I think, though it's never been right since." I murmured, my head lowering with shame.
