Small, hard hooves beat against the soft green ground as the compact black body moved swiftly through the shaded forest, his speed no longer easy and round, but now speedy and urgent.
He had to find the rest of the Starbed herd, and as quickly as possible. Imp had no idea how long Nemesis was going to be able to kill before Chocuya got away from them and came after the herd.
After what seemed like ages, Impulse found himself in a large clearing, were he hoped would be fairly easy to assemble everyon together. Snorting, he slowed, gasping for breath as he lowered his head, allowing himself only a few moments rest before he raised his head once again. He raised his head, his nostrils flared with urgence as he let out a long whinny, hoping that it wouldn't be too hard to hear.
Cloud!?
He said, hoping that the beautiful little mare wouldn't be too far away from the clearing. Allowing himself time to think, he thought back to the conversation that the three horses had been having when Imp had showed up. Chocuya was going to come for the herd, was that correct? He wondered. All he knew was that his job was to get the herd together and stay with them until Nemesis arrived.

Cloudy heard Imp's voice and trotted towards it, breathing a bit hard because of the little one she was carrying. Pricking her ears and nuzzling her mate's neck, she looked at him with affection glowing softly in her eyes. Far away, probably in the nearby Mt. Fira, the screams of battle echoed chillingly through the forest. Then, she realised, they were too close to be from Mt. Fira. They were in the Stargem. Fear lighted her eyes.
"Imp, who's fighting who? Is it Nemesis and Acc?"
Her grey pelt shone softly in the evening light, but though the sun was going down, she could still see the panic in his eyes. His coat was covered in a slight sheen of sweat as if he had been running, and his nostrils flared as they tried to restore his breathing to normal. Pressing against him comfortingly, she tried to calm herself.
"No, Acc wouldn't come here. He's heard of Nemesis - He's too frightened to come and fight him. He knows about how he cracked Valiant's skull and beat Chocoyuah without spilling a drop of his blood. Whoever he's fighting, he'll be OK..."I hope she added silently.

The warm spring air blew in gentle gusts around the dappled mare, and she relished the sensation as her grey and white streaked mane floated around accordingly. She closed her eyes, pricking her ears to the beautiful spring day.
The sweet melody of exotic birds, perched among the great jungle trees, wafted hypnotically into her auds, and she swivelled them around, so as to not miss a single song. The green grass rustled with rythm, each blade brushing the others pleasantly like a shrill violin. The sun shone through the leaves of the forest, casting splashes of jeweled color upon the floor. The colors hit the mare, standing directly under a tree which cast green and yellow light, and she felt as though the colors hit her very soul. A small, joyful smile was curled upon her maw, and her nostrils flared at the sweet scents around her.
A new sound entered her ears, and at once she strained to hear it, eager for a new instrument to join in with the melody of Starbed. Yet, as she opened her mind to the noise, she realized it was not beautiful at all. It was the sound of symbols, crashing and banging, awfully out of rythm. They did not belong here, in this beautiful place, in this glorious day. Immediately, her eyes opened wide, and she cringed back, whimpering slightly.
Battle. There were the sounds of battle nearby, the song of violence, which her delicate mind couldn't tolerate in the least.
A heroic harmony now beat out, a strong, powerful trumpet, the hooves of someone galloping with a purpose. Her head snapped towards the courageous music, and immediately she began to float towards it, cantering in a way which looked as though she were dancing, moving to the music that she heard all around her as the story unfolded in song. The flashes of jewel-colored light became less and less, and finally nonexistant as she burst into a clearing, stopping at once when she saw Impulse and Cloud. Both looked on edge, worried, emotions she did not like at all.
Doe-eyed, she approached them, half wanting to turn around, not sure she wanted to know what was happening. The sounds of battle never called for anything good.
"Cloud, Impulse," Isces addressed each of them, nodding her her head slightly in greeting. "What's going on?"
((I don't think I've ever roleplayed Isces with either Cloud or Impulse, but they're herd-mates, so they probably know who eachother are?))

Impulse slowed his breathing as Cloud entered the meadow, her expression mirroring his as the cries of battle echoed across the rainforest, too close for comfort. Nickering lovingly, Imp's gaze met Cloud's as she approached him, nuzzling him worriedly. She was tired, and Imp lowered his warm gaze to her barrel, which was swelled quite large with the foal inside. Not long now, he thought, smiling on the inside, though the thought couldn't keep his heart warm for very long. The sounds of hoofbeats approaching alerted him, and he wasn't sure whether or not he should be feeling relieved for finding another herd member or even more stressed.
Greetings, Isces. It is Chocoyuah.
He said gravely, he voice hushed as he pinned his ears in discust. Couldn't that filthy pig get a hint? Nemesis had already done what he had needed to do, and any normal stallion would realize that being defeated meant that he should go away. But no, it was the way of a Dark. Never give up until you get your way, he thought in hatred.
He is back, yet again. He wants revenge on he who deserved the right to win in the first place.
His voice was strained from the hard gallop, and his words came out raspy and harsh, from emotions as well as fatigue. His duty was to get the herd to the far end of the lands, as far away as possible from the cries of the battle.
Come, we must leave. We need to find as many of the others as possible and get them to the farest location. And fast.
He had no idea how long Nemesis was planning on giving them to run, or how long he could give them, for that matter.
