Due to some messiness today with posts being made by people other than the actual owners of the accounts, I recommend that everyone:

1. Change your password. Remember - use numbers and symbols for better security.

2. Clear your cookies! There is a possibility that there may be a keylogger on this site. Clear your cookies now and often to be sure that your information isn't being saved and given away without your permission.


In the meantime, the ability for users to change their emails or delete their own accounts has been temporarily removed.

Random events are back! Watch out... you might run into one...

As a few of you have noticed by now, there are several horses listed as being power level 10, and the subforums have disappeared off of the main forum index. There are reasons for this! I've made two big changes to the site.

1. To offset the lower level of activity, the herdlands are again merging into the 7 main areas.

This means that there will be only 7 herds, not 15, in Terra. In other words, no more Lords and Vassals, beginning Wednesday. Lead Stallions are still encouraged to post in their own herdlands by this wednesday if they wish to keep their land. In herdlands where the Lord does not post by Wednesday, but a Vassal does, the Vassal will become the new Lead Stallion of that area. If both the Lord and Vassal post, the Lord will remain the Lead Stallion, and the Vassal may choose to live on as part of the Lord's herd, or may venture off to claim his own land. Areas where neither the Lord nor the Vassal posts will be available for claiming. This all goes into effect Wednesday, May 19th. Yes, the subforums will remain... they will just belong to the herd controlling the whole area, not to two or three individual herds.


2. The powers system is completely rewritten, to make it easier to earn and maintain a power.

Spirit Quests, as of today, are done away with. The new method for gaining a power is written on the Rules page and on the 'How it Works' sticky in Terranfall. Users will now be allowed to create their own powers, and may have that power approved or declined by an administrator or moderator. Once a power is approved, your horse will automatically grow one power level for each month, real time, after the day the mod approved their power. Remember, you must still belong to a faction to receive a power, and your power must be within the limits of what that faction's god can give.



EDIT: Wednesday is here, and the herdlands have been combined. My apologies to Stormshadow, who was the only leader to confirm his presence and not keep any land (expect Roundabout, but I can't apologize to myself.) Two herdlands went up for claims - Stargem and the Valley - and Stargem still has yet to find a leader. Claiming is done on a first come, first serve basis, so move quickly if you'd like to claim.

Because of the recent slowness in activity, all herdlands where the lead stallion does not post in his own herdland by Wednesday, May 19th will be opened for claiming once again. Anyone who wishes to continue roleplaying here and keep your land needs to make at least one, in character post in their herdland by that time.

Depending on the level of activity on the site in the next few days, herdlands may or may not be condensing once again to the 7 main areas. There's no use in having 15 herds with only a handful of actively roleplaying horses. If this happens, the smaller herdlands will remain as forum, but each will belong to the leader of the area - currently, the Lord of the area. In the event that a Lord doesn't post before Wednesday, May 19th, that area will go to the Vassal who has been most active In Character in this week-long period.

Edit: Small update
I've fixed the forums so that posts will display "From the Beginning" automatically, so you can now find all of your old posts. Woohoo. :)

Now that summer is upon us (for those of us in the west, anyway) it's about time to get this place alive and kickin' again.

The season has changed to Summer, at long last! Time for fun in the sun and cooling off in nice, glistening pools, because man is it hot!

A site sweep has been conducted. Everyone with less than ten posts or inactive accounts (which means either you still have 0 posts after many months, or I manually deactivated you for some infraction of the rules) was deleted. I didn't save the names of those who were deleted (sorry - oversight on my part) but if you happened to be one of them and you want to come back and rp with us, joining is just a button click away.

So let's get roleplaying again, HB! If you have ideas for things to get the site going again, post them to my thread on the OOC board.
